About Yuri Vanetik

Yuri Vanetik is a passionate professional based in California who has extensive experience as an American financier and political coalition builder. Throughout his diverse career, Yuri has demonstrated his commitment to causes of many sorts, related to the arts, children’s health, pressing political issues, and his business endeavors.

Yuri Vanetik attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned his Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Legal Studies with a focus on Political Science, History and Philosophy in 1991, where he graduated with Highest Honors. Shortly after finishing his Bachelor’s degree, Yuri completed his J.D. from the University of California, San Francisco in 1997, where he received the coveted American Jurisprudence Award. Because of his passion for education, Yuri has become a strong advocate for education. He believes that education is key for a building a better and brighter future, and believes it is vital that we seek out ways to improve the quality of education and also make it accessible on a wider level.

Because of Yuri Vanetik’s passion for philanthropy, he has remained active in the community as well. To extend his ability to help others on all fronts, Yuri founded his endeavor, the Vanetik Foundation, to inspire and create positive change across multiple disciplines. Yuri Vanetik also seeks to effect constructive developments in the United States of America and around the world by supporting a number of organizations that promote education, health, community stability, global security, and free market initiatives.

In 2008, Yuri Vanetik was appointed to the National Board of Gen Next. Gen Next is an invitation-only organization for those who are dedicated to learning about and becoming engaged with the challenges that are facing our future generations. That same year, he joined the Advisory Board of UC Irvine’s Center for Unconventional Security Affairs (CUSA), which works on creating solutions to human and environmental security challenges. Most recently, Yuri was appointed to the Board of Trustees for his law school, the University of California, San Francisco.

Yuri Vanetik continues to be incredibly passionate about public health and has been involved in several organizations that are dedicated to helping Americans who are enduring a public health crisis. In 2008, He joined the Board of Directors for the American Red Cross. He continues to support the American Red Cross in donations. In 2010, Yuri was appointed to the Board of Directors for Miracles for Kids, which is a foundation that is dedicated to helping children with serious illnesses. That same year, Yuri joined the Board of Directors for the Center for Global Change. The Center for Global Change provides much-needed assistance to abused, neglected, and underprivileged orphans around the world.

Yuri Vanetik is also a highly active member of his community and is proud to play his part in a variety of organizations. He is on the Board of Directors for the Orange County Performing Arts Center in Orange County, California. In 2008, he was appointed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger to serve on the California Criminal Justice Council, based on his expertise in law. In 2011, he was appointed to the California Economic Strategy Commission by the State Senate.

Yuri Vanetik also sits on a variety of boards for political and community organizations, including Young Presidents Organization, Heritage Foundation, CATO Institute, Sheriffs Foundation, Law Enforcement Alliance, Ayn Rand Institute, the RNC Regents, Capitol Hill Club, American Conservative Union, Center Club, Shady Canyon Golf Club, Pacific Club, American Enterprises Institute, New Majority, and the National Rifle Association.

Yuri Vanetik believes that there are innumerable ways to support meaningful causes. Even if one cannot donate money or cannot create their foundation as he has, there are plenty of other options, from volunteering for activities to donating blood. He shares the drive to improve the lives of others through community service and support. While he does not hold a board seat for some of his favorite organizations, he still provides consistent support to each one.

Some of the organizations that Yuri Vanetik also supports are the Gary Sinise Foundation, The Peter G. Peterson Foundation, The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Outrageous Learning, Quilliam Foundation, the Set America Free Coalition, the Institute for the Analysis of Global Security, the Alliance of Youth Movement (AYM), The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, and the Business Executives for National Security (BENS).

Yuri Vanetik created this website with a few goals. To begin, he wants to maintain a blog that discusses a variety of topics relating to philanthropy, including what inspires him the most in the world of philanthropy. He also talks about how the power of philanthropy affects different societies and industries, and how one can get involved in their community. Yuri Vanetik is also the Lincoln Fellow with the Claremont Institute, a National think tank for the study of politics and statesmanship. He is an avid wine lover and connoisseur. In his spare time, Yuri enjoys practicing martial arts, studying history, and enjoys playing golf and tennis. He is also passionate about teaching others about a variety of topics using his own experience working as a business professional and entrepreneur. Yuri Vanetik has been featured as a guest author in a wide range of well-known publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Forbes, Bloomberg Law, California Business Journal, and more.
